• HI All

I have been trying to delete plugins from within Dashboard (Wp 2.7.1). BUt I get the error:

Fatal error: Cannot use assign-op operators with overloaded objects nor string offsets in /home/lams08/public_html/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 688

The plugins I am trying to delete are Akismet and Hello Dolly as I wont use them. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Andy

  • No idea what’s causing that error. I’ve never seen it before – though it could be one of your other plugins. In the meantime, FTP into your site and delete the wp-content/plugins/akismet directory and the hello script in the wp-content/plugins directory.

    Hi esmi,

that’s what I did. There was no other option. Just wondered if anyone else had the same problem at any time.
