Deleting ratings and updating overall rating
-
Hello,
I have a website set up that allows logged in users to submit a rating to a post. This is done using the comment system and works fine. The overall rating updates correctly and the individual ratings are displayed next to the post. Now, the problem.
I have managed to delete ratings from the back end, be it a complete ball ache to achieve, however once I’ve deleted a rating the overall rating stays the same. So, for example;
I have three multi ratings for a post
Colour: 1/5
Size: 2/5
Value: 5/5Colour: 2/5
Size: 4/5
Value: 4/5Colour: 4/5
Size: 3/5
Value: 3/5Overall
Colour: 2.3
Size: 3
Value: 4
Total Vote(s): 3Then if I delete a vote, it works, it gets removed, but the Overall score remains the same.
I’ve tried deleting the ratings in two ways. One by deleting the comment from the main WordPress admin, the other (convoluted) way was to go to My Ratings – My Latest 100 Votes then clicking on the posts link at the bottom of the entry. This then takes me to a list where all the votes for an article appear. Then I delete the entire thing, not just the log.
I’m not sure if this is because although the ratings are part of the comment, they aren’t bonded. The comment is simply a husk in which the rating resides. So when I delete the comment, the rating is left (be it hidden) so therefore the overall rating doesn’t change. I’ve tried checking the database but I can’t make sense of it.
I understand that support is now a premium thing, and that this plugin is old now, but I was wondering if there is anyone out there that can help?
Thank you.
