Can inactive Yoast Free be safely deleted when Active Yoast Premium is installed?

We have Yoast Premium 4.2 installed and active.

We also have the prior Yoast free 4.2 installed and inactive.

If I choose to Delete the old non-premium plugin, it gives me a large list of files that will be deleted.

I was told by Yoast previously that Yoast and Yoast Premium share some common files.

Will deleting the old plugin delete anything the Yoast Premium is relying on?

Just don’t want to keep getting Update notices for the old version when I’m not using it.

    Thanks…

The short answer: Yes, you can safely remove the free plugin.

The long answer: The premium plugin folder includes all of the necessary free plugin code. This means you can safely remove the inactive free plugin after activating the premium plugin.
