On Friday (12.13.13) my Delicacy theme updated. Now I can no longer put images in my recipe box (Directions), and it has changed the formatting of all my previous posts – adding numbered lists where I’d already included them, and changing the serves/prep box, as well as including a thumbnail.

Also, I can’t seem to alter the thumbnail. It automatically centers and crops the featured image – which looks horrible. Does anyone know of any solutions? Is the paid theme going to fix this? I’ve had Delicacy for a year and a half and I like it, so I would love to pay for it, I just don’t want to have to change the theme.

It says my theme is Version 1.2.8. When did WordPress update to 3.8?

    Hello!
The update you’re referring to isn’t that recent, it came out in February ?? This was a major update and many things were changed, and recipe section had big makeover. I even posted warning about it in theme description. So the things you mention are not bugs or issues
but just the way the updated theme works. You learned how to work around some of the issues of previous version, but I imagine that it doesn’t look nice now. Also, if you made any custom changes directly to theme files, those are lost during update!
If you want the old theme you can always downgrade. Here’s the list with download inks for all previous versions.

    Thanks! I appreciate the help.

I’m just not sure why the update would have automatically occurred this weekend even though it was released in February and I never updated – any idea? Was it an automatic part of Thursday/Friday’s WordPress update?

Can you tell me the additional features of the paid Delicacy theme, other than the colors?

And finally – is there a way to remove the search bar from the header but keep it as a widget in the right sidebar? I’d removed it from the source editor before, but the update put it back. Obviously I need to get to making changes in the child’s theme from now on. I can’t seem to find the correct section in the header to remove it.

I honestly don’t know why the theme would update automatically. Maybe you clicked on it unintentionally?
Search is hard coded in header.php. You ca remove it easily, of course via child theme. You should have search widget available so you can place it in sidebar if you want.
Pro version includes responsive design, additional footer area above the footer, additional colors, additional fonts. Please note that Pro version also includes changes from latest update.
