This error is reporting that the API key you entered (from SMTP.com) is incorrect.

To fix this, please check your?SMTP.com?account for your API key and try adding it back to Easy WP SMTP once more. This way, the plugin uses the same key that?SMTP.com?currently has on your account.

You can get the API key from here:?https://my.smtp.com/settings/api.

Thank you very much for your reply. I don’t have the credentials for SMTP.com, is it possible to get the API key through other means or cPanel?

You can only get the API keys after setting up an SMTP.com account.
