Demo content for WP themes with classic editor
-
Several years ago I built a lot of WP sites. This was before the block editor & all the themes could be installed with or without demo content. I used the latter as it helped me to see what I could do and it was easy enough to replace what was there with my own material.
A long illness and etc. meant I’ve been away for a fair while. I’ve just started again with a new host. I’ve been able to install WP o.k. and have tried many themes from WP directory & third parties.
I can’t make head nor tail of things now. The blocks confuse me. The themes generally seem to have no demo content that could guide me.
Some of the options are familiar but I’m having real trouble creating menus and even when there is one and I have content for it it doesn’t seem to appear.
I have tried reading written help files and things but I just can’t get my. head around how to get hold of either the classic or the block editor. I’d prefer the classic one as it is with what I have most familirity.
So, I’m stuck. If anyone can help, I’d appreciate it. Would be great if someone could suggest a them with demo material, preferably free, that I could use to get me back into things.
However, I’d appreciate any advice or help.
If I’m in the wrong place or too stupid then please just ignore or moderator please delete.
I never had problems in the past and don’t know whether I’ve got early onset Alzheimers or am just stupid. This is probably my last attempt to sort things out before I give it away and reconcile to a life wihout sites. Perhaps that is the best thing for me.
I’ll leave it there. Sorry if this is an inconvenience or sounds ridiculous to anyone. I don’t like being a nuisance.
