• hi,
I’m building a small site and would like to use wordpress as cms but one of the main features i need will be depending on a plugin.

Question is- How terrible is this?
    * if i have a pugin that wors with 2.6.3 and will never release a new version (pf the plugin), how bad is it if I don’t update wordpress version?

*how difficult would it be to create my own plugin? and what is the main feature in the plugin that would need to be updated for each version of wp?

    THANKS

  • It’s not bad that you don’t upgrade from 2.6.3 (though you should get 2.6.5) but you won’t get any new features or security fixes.

If you have an existing plugin that works, then consider changing that plugin to make it work for you or get a pro to revise the plugin.
