  • The deprecation notice should be removed as the plugin has been updated a few days ago… Due to this notice I had felt compelled to remove the widget. Now I reinstalled it because it’s so great!

No, the deprecation notice will be visible for as long as you keep using the classic widget @belbernard. To “remove” it now, replace the classic widget with either the WordPress Popular Posts block or the [wpp] shortcode.

Once the classic widget is removed from the plugin sometime in the (near) future you won’t see neither the notice nor your popular posts list anymore so, as suggested above, please replace it with either the block or the shortcode as soon as you get the chance to.

Now I reinstalled it because it’s so great!

Thanks! Glad to know you like the plugin ??

Sorry, I don’t understand. I am using GutenBerg’s block “WordPress Popular Posts” with all the settings of your plugin, and it yields a perfect display (of 30 posts) on the top of left column of my home page: https://lebonheurestpossible.org/
Except that it shows the deprecation notice… This widget is no longer visible if I deactivate plugin “WordPress Popular Posts“.

Below this widget, I added “Popular Posts”, which I guess is the one you are recommending. It does display a list of popular posts but with much less parameters. For instance, I cannot display more than 10 posts, and there are other limitations. Plus, it does not require your plugin!

If you’re seeing the notice then you’re definitely not using the WordPress Popular Posts block, you’re using the WordPress Popular Posts widget @belbernard.

I think you’re confused. I didn’t recommend to install a new plugin, my recommendation is to either use the WordPress Popular Posts block or the [wpp] shortcode. You don’t need a plugin for that.

That plugin you installed is definitely not mine.

Anyways, this is a review section. If you need further assistance with this please create a new topic, let’s stop commenting on Felipe’s review.

OK, fixed with a shortcode. Shortcodes make life so much easier! ??
