Hey! Why isn’t the article description from the first paragraph displayed if the article starts with H2?
    How to fix it?

    Hello!

<h2> are among the elements the description generator prunes. It is possible the h2-tag on your page isn’t closed correctly, rendering all content “unusable” for description generation. It’s also possible you’ve encountered a new bug — do you mind sharing a link to the affected page? I can then test the culprit. Thank you!

    Hi again!

Testing the content, the description generator works as intended on my setup. I see you also provided a custom description, so that should work always ??

Where are you noticing that the description from the first paragraph isn’t displayed? If it’s on Google/Bing Search, please note that they can generate descriptions for you, ignoring whatever you inputted (keyword: sometimes).

By default, the description does not show correctly in the HTML page (<meta name = “description” content = “…….. I recommend that you test the plugin with the theme https://www.ads-software.com/themes/generatepress/. Now I have installed Yost and everything works correctly there.

    Hello!

Thank you for explaining. I see what you’re trying to accomplish.

I must reiterate that we explicitly exclude the h2‘s content purposely. If you want that to be reinstated in the description, then I recommend adding it there manually via the Post SEO meta box.

See point 4 of “Step one, the getter”: https://kb.theseoframework.com/kb/explaining-the-description-generator/. The generator strips all “plausible non-canonical and non-sentence content.” Headers (h1~h6) are among those because most headers are non-sentences. Although this is not the case for your site, that is an exception to the rule.
