• After I had updated from a 2.x version to the 3.0.1 version, I noticed a few unexpected design changes which I’d like to revert.

    • I had a top level navigation which now turned into a sort of dropdown
    • Page headers are suddenly visible again
    • Font type for standard text is suddenly different

What can I do to fix this again?

  • I have had similar, footer design stripped, font changes, backgrounds removed, layout on random pages changed, WordPress customizer removed, block size changes and so on…

Support have been less than helpful, blaming everything bar their update, when it is clearly the update that has caused these issues. Even their pro-plugin a paid for plugin has changed the design and I offered proof of this and instead of addressing the issue they told me how to manually fix the issues caused (not what I asked) – very very poor.

    Hi @achimbecker,

Sorry for all the inconvenience you have faced after updating the theme to the latest version.

Our intention behind the update was to incorporate the latest technology and enhance compatibility with other resources. However, we acknowledge that it has affected the customization of your site. But you don’t need to worry at all, as we will help you fix all the issues that are replicated on your end after the latest theme update.

    1. For removing the dropdown icon on the menu area, please check the guideline and disable the prority and navigation option. The location is mentioned in the guieline here: https://docs.zakratheme.com/en/article/primary-menu-overview-so2s18/
    2. For removing the Page Header, please check the guideline and work accordingly: https://docs.zakratheme.com/en/article/how-to-remove-the-page-header-of-an-individual-page-1opvyjc/
    3. For changing the font type, please check the guideline and work accordingly. Here is the link: https://docs.zakratheme.com/en/article/how-to-change-the-typography-of-the-site-1l1xf5m/

Let me know if this helps you or not and I will get back to you.

thanks for your help so far. The only thing that worked was the typography proposal, so the changed font type is resolved. The other two not.

    • If I was to deactivate the priority plus navigation, then this looks even more weird, because the menu entries are stacked vertically. Yet – as already said – it was a top bar navigation before applying the 3.0 upgrade. How do I get back to this?
    • For your proposal on getting rid of the page header: well that I had tried myself earlier, but it doesn’t have any impact. Also clearing the cache doesn’t make any difference. Still displaying the page header. I tried it again as you suggested for my page https://www.gotompu.de/partner/ and still have the page header visible sadly.

    What would you suggest?

    Hi @achimbecker,

    Thanks for reaching back,

    1. In-order to fix the issue with the menu, you’ll need to decrease the font-size of the site title and tagline. Since the font-size of both the site title and tagline is high it is taking lots of space which is leading the menu to display under a icon. As you can check from the screenshot: https://prnt.sc/QS7cGiYxMmJ8 if you decrease the font size of the site title and typography, the menu will display ina single line after disabling the prority + navigation option.

However if you want to keep the site title and tagline with large font-size, you can choose the main header to be layout 2 which will display the menu below the site logo as shown in the screenshot here: https://prnt.sc/udWNmUhi70Wj

    2. Regarding the page header, I couldnot find the page header enabled in the page here: https://www.gotompu.de/partner/. Can you please share the screenshot of the section you are refeering so that I can check and provide with an appropriate solutions.

The circled word “Partner” is the page title, which I’d like to disappear again. I’ll look into your suggestions for the other topic

    Hi @achimbecker,

    Thanks for reaching back,

The option for removing the page title is available with the premium version of Zakra, which we are not allowed to discuss on the .org support forum. So for further discussion, I suggest you contact us via live chat support: https://zakratheme.com/

Do mention this converstaion while doing so.

so let me rephrase what you said to make sure I get it. You offer a free version of your theme and tell everybody that this is so cool (which it is) and they should use it – with the hope that we at some point upgrade to the paid version, because it offers even more. Very normal and logical approach. So if you add a new feature, you consciously decide whether it comes into the paid version or the free version. Also fine.

But what you did here is the opposite. You took away a feature from the free version, where people where relying on. You’re proving the usual assumption wrong, that if you start on the free version, then things that are for free also do stay for free. This way you’re killing your free version! Me thinking: What other feature have they taken away with the recent upgrade which I just didn’t realize YET? Which other feature will they take away in the future, which I’m relying on?

    You’re killing trust.

Can you please make sure that this feature comes back into the free version? Because it was part of it before the upgrade.

    Best, Achim

After updating to the latest version, it has completely destroyed the product sheet using Shopengine. In fact, it won’t let me edit the element from the Shopengine templates. Incredible that they have created problems where they did not exist

    Hi @achimbecker,

    Thanks for reaching back,

I guess you have some confusion. The option for removing the page title was never the feature provided by the free version of the Zakra theme. However you might have added the CSS Code earlier to remove the page title and after the latest update since we have changed the CSS Class, ID’s due to which the code didn’t work and the page title appeared again.

So if you want to remove it via CSS code, let me know, and I will get back to you. However, if you want to achieve this via the option from the theme, please contact us via live chat support at https://zakratheme.com/, and we will discuss it further.

ah, ok. that might well be true. So you made incompatible changes to the objects and that killed my CSS. Then it would be great to know, how this needs to be adjusted for the new version. Thanks for explaining and helping out.

just found it myself header.zak-entry-header is the new naming. Do you have a list of objects / Ids that you changed so that your community users can proactively do sth?

    Hi @achimbecker,

    Thanks for reaching back,

We have complied the new Classes, Functions and Hooks of the new version of the Zakra theme here: https://docs.zakratheme.com/en/article/all-about-updated-classes-functions-and-hooks-in-zakra-free-v30-and-zakra-pro-v20-1178×00/
