Design Question

Hello,

I am fairly new to WordPress development, and I am building a home brewery website for a client. The client would like to have a beer’s page listing their beers with descriptions.

I understand that I could just create a ‘Beer’ page and let the user add their beer’s to the page, but I was thinking that I would design the look and feel for the content of that page that the client likes, and all they have to do is add a picture of the beer and then their descriptions. This would simplify the user experience.

What would be the best development techniques to accomplish these goals which would make it a really nice and easy user experience? I’m thinking I would need to create a plugin with a custom post type of ‘Beer’? Which would allow the user to add their beers and then get those short codes for the user to paste within the ‘Beer’ page CMS area? Am I on the right track here?
