    Hi guys

I have been meaning to ask you this for a long, long time but always delayed it till now.

I always have problems with my clients when I design their sites with Sydney because most of them have a different screen resolution to mine and when the visualize their websites they don’t look as they look on my PC (1920×1080). For example, where I see a row with an image on the right perfectly aligned with some text on the left, they see a smaller image and the text surpases the bottom margin (I hope I’m explaining myself well).

Is there any way to fix this at all?

    And another question.
I’m aware that the most used resolution nowadays is 1366×768 but it seems the trend is for that resolution to be a little bit on the decline whereas 1920×1080 seems to be going up. Do you recommend I design websites based on clients resolution so that they are happy (although their users might not be); or do you recommend to keep using 1920×1080 which seems to be where most users will be going this year and beyond? Or, thirdly, do you recommend using 1366×768, the most used today?

Thanks for your assistance and patience!
    Esther

  • Hello Esther,

    1. Row background is designed to fill the row on all resolutions, the price is that background image is cut when there is aspect ratio difference. In my opinion it’s optimal behavior, otherwise there might be even more issues. Workaround is to use background images without important things close to edges. Also you can try to use SiteOrigin Image widget to show whole image.

    2. Well, I don’t think that it’s a good idea to concentrate on some certain resolution at all. I think that website should look good on all resolutions, from smartphones to 4k displays.

    Kind Regards, Roman.

    Hi Roman,

Thanks for your response. I have been using both, inserting images and the SiteOrigin image widget however the same thing happens.

If you look at the images on the site I mentioned, for example, and you change resolution to 1366×768 the image does not extend vertically to cover the background. I guess the only solution for this then would be to use more vertical images?

_Thanks in advance for your advise

    Hello Esther,

Yes, you can try to use a little bit more vertical images, also you can try to reduce side widgets padding.

    Kind Regards, Roman.
