    Hello,

I installed your plugin today and am having a problem with the chosen image not showing up in Facebook. I ran the site through the FB Debugger and got the following error messages which I don’t completely understand. The image we are trying to use is 499×387, which should be plenty big enough if I understand correctly. The site is https://www.kssoapkitchen.com. We are are looking forward to using your plug-in, so any help you can provide would be much appreciated. The error messages are:

Inferred Property The ‘og:url’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.

Inferred Property The ‘og:title’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.

og:image could not be downloaded or is too small og:image was not defined, could not be downloaded or was not big enough. Please define a chosen image using the og:image metatag, and use an image that’s at least 200x200px and is accessible from Facebook. Image ‘https://kssoapkitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/intro_28.png’ will be used instead.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll look at that in the next release.

    I’m having a similar issue.
Is the plugin supposed to correct already posted Facebook posts or just future ones?
If you could please advise that would be great.. I have an ‘anxious’ client.. Thank you!

If you’re having issues where you’re seeing older thumbnails on Facebook instead of the new ones, that’s Facebook’s cache which I think lasts for 24hrs.

But you can force it to update by running your webpage URL through the official Facebook Debugger tool: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

Thanks, Michael. I appreciate your quick response.

I’ve done that and the old image is still appearing as the image of the link?!
here’s the blog post: https://chargetorecharge.com/the-difference-between-american-express-and-other-cards/ but you’ll see here that it’s pulling up the wrong picture: https://www.facebook.com/GIVIACC

It seems to work fine for me. If I share that post on Facebook I see this: https://i.imgur.com/r2r1mHl.png

That is the featured image you have set.

Bear in mind this won’t magically update the image on the post if it was previously shared on Facebook. That’s just how Facebook works and no plug-in can change that. Basically when a page is shared on Facebook, it makes a copy of the image and stores it on their own server. That version of the image is then served up if anyone else shares the post.

The only way to “fix” the problem is to delete that post from Facebook and add it again, now that the new image has been scraped.

I’m having the same issue I just published a new article but the featured image doesnt show up instead it sets another image from the post, this works normally before
