desktop only ad unit showing on mobile impressions

I have an ad set to be desktop only but it is getting a lot of impressions on mobile however the ad unit doesn’t actually show on mobile
the large billboard ad shows on desktop and not mobile
however it is showing 1900 impressions on mobile this month…
any ideas>

You are using caching, client-site device detection with Show action and AdSense.
The ads are still inserted (loaded and counted) for all devices, but for unwanted devices they are hidden by the browser using CSS media queries based on viewport widths.
You should use either:
1. Insert action so the ads will be inserted only on wanted devices.

2. Instead of device detection use (generate) AdSense code Fixed by viewport size:
