Desperately Needs Some Improvements
-
This plugin is okay, but desperately needs some developer love. These are the problems I found within the first 2 hours of trying to set it up.
- Appointment Overrun
- Simultaneous Appointments for the Same Worker
- No Appointments Ending At or Thru Midnight
Appointment Overrun
When setting a service duration greater than the slot-step (appointment increments), the available appointment times do not adjust the last slot-step(s) to prevent an appointment from extending past the end-time in the connection. For example, let’s say a business offers an hour-long service, available in 30-minute increments. That business also has a worker setup as available from 9am to 5pm. So, you would think the end-time in the connection should be 5pm (17:00). If the connection end-time is set to 5pm, then 4:30pm will show-up as the last appointment time. That worker will either be walking-out halfway thru their last appointment or will be grumbling about having to stay 30-minutes late everyday.
Simultaneous Appointments for the Same Worker
The plugin only reserves combined service/worker appointment times. When more than one service is connected to a worker, that worker can be double-booked. For example, a business offers service A and service B and has worker Joe available from 9am to 5pm. Customer 1 books Joe for service A. But, the plugin only blocks Joe’s time for Service A. So, customer 2 can book Joe for service B at the same time.
Appointments Cannot End At or Extend Thru Midnight
The connection time has a hard, built-in gap between 11:59pm (23:59) and midnight/12am (24:00 or 0:00). Try to use 24:00 as the end-time and it will revert to 0:00. If this happens, the change cannot be saved and the end-time text box gets outlined in red, presumably because the end-time is now earlier than the start-time. Therefore, appointments cannot end at midnight. Also, since the start and end times share the same date, appointments cannot extend thru midnight.
