Details about the Ping interface

  • WordPress has the ability to Ping various ping services like https://rpc.pingomatic.com/. I would like to write a small service in PHP that receives and processes a ping from WordPress. Where can I find a description of the interface that I have to expose, which I presume should use the XML-RPC interface? Also, what function in WordPress sends the actual ping from WordPress?
