Details not showing up on individual event pages

    Hi all!

    I’m managing a website and it is using an old version of event manager. Version 2.2.2.

    The plugin was working fine before, but then the theme was updated, and a new plugin was installed. The theme was then reverted back to how it was, and the plugin is now deactivated. However, events manager stopped showing details on individual event pages.

    The events load fine when listing the events, but when you click on a specific event, the details do not show up: https://livegreenhoward.com/events/?event_id=738

    Here is what I have tried, but did not have any success:

    Updated Events Manager (broke the plugin even more, plugin stopped working completely)
    Activated, reactived Events Manager
    Switched themes
    Dashboard->Events->Settings. checked ‘Default single event format’ box. nothing changed there.
    Duplicated on local. everything worked fine. migrated local to live. Still doesn’t work.
    Removed the plugin that originally broke the site
    Removed other event plugins
    created new event

    Please if you have any input as to fix this problem, please let me know!

    Hi,

    The best option would be to updated Events Manager to the current version; we’re not really able to offer support for a version that’s several years old.

    The only way to do that safely from the version you’re using is to upgrade in steps, first to version 3.0, then to version 4.0.

    I see 3.0, but then which 4.0 do I use?

    4.0 (svn)
    4.0rc2 (svn)
    4.0rc1 (svn)

    and then from there, I don’t see normal 5.0, I see

    5.0rc1 (svn)
    5.0b3 (svn)
    5.0b2 (svn)
    5.0b1 (svn)

    Does it matter which 4.0 or 5.0 I use?

    Update, I just tried going from 2.2.2 to 3.0. It still breaks.

    As long as you go from a 4 point something to a 5 point something you should be fine.

    It still breaks.

    Can you give us more information?

    I actually switched to another plugin due to a time crunch. It seems like the core theme files was modified instead of the child theme, and when updated, it somehow lost connection to the database for some pages. Or it might be that the core theme isn’t compatible?

    But basically when I updated the plugin to 3.0, everything on the website regarding the plugin events disappeared. Nothing showed up, and on top of that, my sidebars disappeared. I have no idea why it’d do that but I don’t think anyone else would have this case. I’ll mark this as resolved as I am no longer using the plugin on the website.

    Thank you for your assistance though about gradually updating the plugin!
