• For some reason broken link checker is listing LOTS of broken links that don’t exist in my OptimizePress pages. I contacted OP support and they said:
    “if I load that page, go to View > Developer > View Source (In Google Chrome web browser) and search for wpspin_light.gif (broken link checker reported a link to this image as broken) – i do not see any reference to this on the page code at all, meaning that it is not being linked to on this page anywhere (otherwise it would appear in the code). I’ve checked a number of these links and the result is the same. We’ve not heard of any issues with OptimizePress in generating links to missing files, and I do not see this issue here, it seems to be some kind of glitch in how the broken link checker is checking the pages – perhaps it is somehow scanning the LiveEditor platform rather than the live page and resulting in a false- positive”

    Any ideas how to fix this one? I have several pages with this issue.

  • Can you list some page with the broken link detected by the Broken links checker?
    Issues that may cause false broken links:
    – linking to scheduled posts
    – not existing images
    – temporary website downs

    Thanks!

    I’m having the exact same problem.

    I’m having this problem and it looks like broken links are detected in meta tags. I’m seeing these two meta tags generating broken links, but there isn’t a way I can see to fix this on my end.

    Broken Link checker is creating the URL by putting two tags together as in the following example:

    <meta name=’shareaholic:image’ content=’images/wpspin_light.gif’ />

    <meta name=’shareaholic:url’ content=’https://consciousshift.me/genesis-of-genius-course-home/&#8217; />

    so the broken link is listed as:
    https://consciousshift.me/genesis-of-genius-course-home/images/wpspin_light.gif

    Of course, that URL is invalid. But nothing is calling out that exact URL. It seems to be created by your plugin.

    I am having this problem and am still looking for an answer to this issue. Is there any further information?

    Did you fix this issue? If so, how? I’m asking because every broken link the Broken Link Checker plugin brought back was because of this wpspin_light.gif image.

    Thanks
