• There is another website linking with mine in a weird way and is searching for an XMLHttp I do not recognise – see console issue below:

Mixed Content: The page at ‘https://arlenefoy.com/’ was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure XMLHttpRequest endpoint ‘https://emperifolla.com/rest/v1.1/notifications/?http_envelope=1&fields=id%2Ctype%2Cunread%2Cbody%2Csubject%2Ctimestamp%2Cmeta%2Cnote_hash&number=10’. This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS.

Can this be fixed as I can access the backend of this website etc not just view it.

  • I’ve just checked your public website but I didn’t see any mixed content or even any reference to https://emperifolla.com/.

Where are you seeing this mixed content message? Or have you sorted it out already?

It is there in the developer panel in the console section. I have checked it this morning. It’s so strange.

The theme has said it is nothing to do with them so I’m not sure where the error is coming from.

I actually checked the developer console in both Firefox and Chrome, nothing. I just checked again, and I don’t see anything on the homepage. I also passed the homepage through https://www.whynopadlock.com/, and no mixed content was reported.

Is this only happening on a particular page other than the homepage?

That is so strange that you cannot see what I am seeing. It comes up for all the pages when I go in to check.

Are you able to share a screenshot, as I’ve done?

How do I upload a screenshot?

How do I upload a screenshot?

You can upload it to an external photo-sharing website (eg https://snipboard.io/ ) and paste the URL.

    Hoping this works!

    Hello Arlene,

I can see your screenshot, but it doesn’t show any mixed-content or the error message you originally posted.

I see 3 errors/warnings reported in your screenshot:

The first, “Uncaught > P” is coming from Google AdSense on your website. It appears you have more than one “Page Level Ads” code on your site… when you’re supposed to use just one code.

The second, “Failed to load resource”, is coming from the Mailchimp for Woocomerce plugin you have on your site. This is a 403-forbidden error… WordPress is unable to fetch the remote file due to a permission issue on the remote server at chimpstatic.com, not your website. And this is not a mixed-content issue.

The third “DevTools failed to load SourceMaps” is coming from a local Google Chrome browser extension installed on your computer, not your website. Again, this is not a mixed-content issue.

I didn’t even notice that it wasn’t there any longer when I took the screenshot. I’m not sure what happened but it seems to have rectified itself. It must have been an error in one of the plugins. A few of them have updated over the past week.

I am having the exact same issue, including a reference to the same site (and what looks to be the same URL). I believe it is coming from Jetpack.

For clarity, this ONLY appears while logged into WP, and is NEVER visible on any public pages of the site. However, when logged in, the error appears on every page, be it viewing the site, or in the WP dashboard.

It looks like the request is run probably about once per minute. It’s a bit alarming to see attempted connections to a site that I don’t recognize.

I have 3 sites, each with Jetpack. Each one has the same issue, pointing to the same URL/domain. I disabled Jetpack on one, and the issue went away. I also updated Jetpack to the latest version (9.0.2) and the issue is still present.

If anyone has any insight on this I would greatly appreciate it.

The issue is no longer appearing. It was definitely a theme issue as it appeared on a friends website also with the same theme and nothing to do with Jetpack.
