    I tried to use EWWW Version 1.3.7, but it comes up with the following errors:

    jpegtran: MISSING?Install automatically | manually
    optipng: MISSING?Copy

    I presume it’s got something to do with the disabled functions, but unfortunately I don’t know how to solve the problem.

    can you find out what OS you are using on the server (redhat, centos, debian, etc)? contact your webhost if necessary. it would appear we have several folks that cannot use the bundled utilities and I’m trying to work out what the problem is.

    The OS that’s running on the server is Gentoo Vers. 3.1.6

    if it’s a dedicated server or you can install stuff, you should be able to just ’emerge optipng’, ’emerge gifsicle’, etc. Then you don’t have to worry about the bundled tools. If I remember my gentoo well enough, you can do an ’emerge search jpegtran’ to figure out what they call the jpeg tools package on gentoo.

    No, I’m not able to install stuff as it’s a shared server. I just asked my host for installing the tools for me.

    Just got the answer from my host: Not possible to install anything ??
    But I won’t switch the hoster, so I’ve got to switch the plugin, sorry!

    no worries. One last thing, if you don’t mind:
    Can you find out what kernel version your machine is running?
    I’m going to be potentially recompiling for Debian 5, so there is a possibility that this would work for your kernel.
