Diabled Wordfence plugin still adds cron jobs

    I have disabled the wordfence plugin and the CRON jobs do not get removed. I do not want to delete the plugin as I want to save the configuration.

    When I manually remove these cron jobs they come back even though the plugin is disabled.

    How can I disable Wordfence?

    The following cron jobs keep coming back even if removed:

    wordfence_hourly_cron
    wordfence_daily_autoUpdate
    wordfence_daily_cron
    wordfence_start_scheduled_scan
    wordfence_start_scheduled_scan
    …
    wordfence_email_activity_report

    If anyone else ever has a similar issue, the first suspect is database caching, either through a plugin or “memcache.”
