Dialog Box after closing a created product

    Hello everyone

    I noticed recently, WordPress is behaving in a weird way. I create a new product, fill in the details, publish. All done, and when I close the tab, click “New Product” or go to all products list, it pops up with an annoying dialog box asking if I’m sure I want to move to another page.

    I haven’t test with pages or articles, but I need to publish a LOT of products, and having that dialog box everytime I want to leave the page (being by closing the browser tab, creating a new product, or moving to another WP panel) it pops that pesky dialog box.

    Did they made this a new option? Can I disable it? Native or with plugins? I don’t remember WordPress making these dialog boxes everytime I want to leave a newly created product page.

  • I have a basic Storefront/WooCommerce site and this doesn’t happen for me.

    Try temporarily swtiching to the Storefront theme and deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce. Its likely you won’t have this dialog box now. If you do, tell us what browser and OS you are using. If you don’t, reactivate one-by-one and check to find out where its coming from.

    Ok, one thing I forgot to mention. I use Microsoft Edge as my default browser. Will try to do the same in Google Chrome just to see if this is browser-related or plain WordPress.

    I’ve checked: I used Google Chrome and this still happens.

    I am sure this is not related to any plugins, since I did installed every single one of them into this site and none are popup-related.

    Can anyone try this? Create a product in your online store, and close the tab / click the “add new” button, and see if your browser pops an annoying message asking “you sure you want to close the window?”…

    Hi there,

    This is a known bug being addressed at https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/28557. In short, the underlying cause is due to changes in WordPress 5.6 which needs to patched first ??
