dialog boxes not centered

On WordPress 3.5.1 install the dialog boxes arent centered when they open, however, on 3.4.1 they are centered. Not sure if this is related or not but there is also a javascript error, a. curcss is not a function, when the dialog box is activated.
One forum suggests upgrading jquery-ui to 1.9.2 to fix the js error. 3.4.1 no error because jQuery 1.8 shipped with WP 3.5.
Please help! Need the dialog to be center. Thanks!
