Hi I did a restore and the whole website got a white screen. I think it might be your plugin not able to use php7 so the host had to put it back to php 5 to get the site back up.

Can you explain to me why a restore would do this please? Seems weird if it was the backup that was done through the managewp.

    Thanks

    Restore Failed

Failed restoring site https://www.gyoworkforce.com.au/. error: The process finished, but we got an error when we attempted to create the .htaccess file:

@nanny7 I’m not afiliated with managewp or something similar, but I restored at least 2 times under PHP 7.0 and 7.2 and did not had any problems, my only issue with restoring is that it’s slow, it takes around 10-15 minutes from when you activate to actually see the effects.

I think you have traffic on your website and due to that, while the website is being transferred, it goes in a white screen of death or some nasty stuff. I suggest locking the website via .htaccess and allowing managewp to restore it fully.
https://managewp.com/troubleshooting/general/managewp-ips-can-white-list here’s the list of IP’s they are using, I used it on my firewall (had an issue where managewp was not connecting to some of my websites, on same server).

    Hope it helps!

@nanny7 PHP version should have no relevance to the restoration process. ManageWP is compatible with the latest PHP version and backward compatible with previous versions of PHP.
