• I’ve been battling the fantom/ghost plugin (if you’ve ever seen an annoying 1 number of updates while all of your plugins are up to date, you know what I am talking about!

I have actually solved it for me (you may have a different reason).

I had a Custom Facebook Feed (pro version) by smashbaloon installed. After I had renewed my license, I had also updated the license number field in the plugin settings, and plugin was working. I must’ve had number of updates that day, and this fact slipped through my mind and I did not put 2 and 2 together.

Later on, while I was trying to troubleshoot the “mystery” plugin that was messing with update numbers, and was deactivating plugins (deleting via FTP, NOT via dashboard, then reuploading them again and activating, and nothing worked), at some point, because I wanted to get some clean versions of some plugins, I went directly to my account with smashbaloon, and downloaded the plugin zip file that was listed under my license renewals. and IT WORKED. Fantom (1 update) is GONE!

So, I have a theory, that it may be plugins that have renewable license, and for some (I guess it depends on how the specific plugin versions are marked for renewal) it is not enough to just update the license number, but you may need to re-install it from the plugin maker’s repository.

    Does it make sense?
