    Hello,

This plugin has been working great for us and our clients so far. However, we just came across a huge issue.

We had an issue with our website, unrelated to any plugins. We used UpDraft to restore the latest backup. Then we see that more than half of our plugins were not restored! So we looked at the original backup files (it was made on October 15th) and there were only a handful of plugins there.

The missing plugins were plugins that were installed long before October 15th and were up to date.

Is there a reason why UpDraft didn’t backup everything?

(The reason this is a huge issue is that there was a paid plugin that we got through a theme we paid for. The theme has now been taken off of the website we purchased it from so we cannot redownload the theme files and get the premium plugin that way).

    Thank you for your time.

    Hi,

Is there a reason why UpDraft didn’t backup everything?

Please can you send the log file from the backup which appeared to miss things? Then I’ll have some data on the backup to look at. Post it at pastebin.com, as it’ll be too long for the forum here.

If the backup set is still in your UD dashboard (i.e. hasn’t been pruned), then you can get the log from there. If it’s been pruned as old, then the log is attached to the report email that UD sends at the end of a backup run (assuming you configured one to be sent).

    Best wishes,
    David

    Hi,

That log file does log a zip error when creating the plugins zip – and that zip error would have been shown in the email backup report… I guess nobody read that report??

Having said that… the latest release of UD, which was released a few days after that backup, has some extra code in the algorithm and would have retried in that instance with a different method. So, if you’ve updated to the latest UD, then whatever caused your zip error may not occur again anyway,.
