I signed up for a trial.
Picked a page on my site, where i knew only ONE image didn’t have an alt tag.
Your software ran on the page. USed up 25 credits, then wrote “insufficient credits” in the alt tag of the only image on the page.
I had selected for it to ingore images, that already had an alt tag, but instead, it rewrote them, and did a bad job at that.

Hi @richinberlin99 — sorry you are having an issue here. When you say “your software ran on the page”, were you using the Refresh Alt Text button, and did *not* check the “Overwrite alt text…” checkbox?

If you login to your AltText.ai account online, you can see in your Images library what was processed there — does that show you which images were processed by the plugin?

Please let us know some details here and we’re happy to help! Also happy to give you another 25 credits to test with ??

    I was on the page.
I set it to only run, on images without an alt text.
It ran, changed the alt text on ALL images, and that was that.

I’m also not super happy anyway, with the settings. The alt texts just describe the whole image, whereas I might wish it to focus on the main item.

if I have a large rug, with a chair on the edge, I might want to tell it it to focus on the most prevalent item, but I cant.

So its not for me. At the price? I can still pay someone from the Phillipines to do it, cheaper, and more accurately.

Hi – most likely what happened is that in your post there was alt text present, but the corresponding images in your media library did not have alt text, which is why the plugin generated the alt text for those as well. We’ll do an update so that this doesn’t happen going forward!

Sorry to hear you weren’t pleased with the results ?? If you have seo keywords/phrases on your post, that usually helps as well to fine-tune the alt text to the post content. But we understand in some cases it may not be right for you.
