• There must have been an update to 2023 recently, because a quirk that’s been there since I first created my site has disappeared (the down arrow next to a middle horizontal menu item, which previously appeared lower than a down arrow next to an end item, now appears as it should). Unfortunately, it seems that another anomaly was introduced: an extra scrollbar now appears (in three up-to-date browsers I’ve checked) on the Linkfire embed I’m using on almost all my pages (via the Custom HTML block). The embed itself has a scrollbar that allows people to listen to the song on the music service of their choice, but now there’s an extra one on the level above, which makes the appearance sloppy and hard to use. I have not jumped into trying to fix with CSS or Javascript yet, but hope one of you experts might be able to diagnose the problem here… Thank you for any help!

Hi @dhowell2074 – this definitely seems a little odd.

Looking at that page from the link you shared – it seems like the issue is with the iFrame being shorter than the content being embedded.

I do also see there’s some CSS that might be conflicting from the Twentig plugin. when i removed that CSS i found the third scrollbar didn’t show any longer. Could you try deactivating that and see if it makes a difference?

I sure thank you for taking a look at this, jordesign! I’ve been away so could not try your solution until now. I just deactivated the Twentig plugin, reloaded page, and the double scrollbar was still present. I tried deleting the cache, but it was still present after that. If you have any other ideas, I’d be glad to try something else. It’s very annoying!

Hey @dhowell2074 – thanks for trying that out. It’s definitely an odd one.

One other thing you could try out is activating a different theme and seeing if that issue still occurs?
Alternatively it may be another plugin conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

If you can install plugins, install and activate “Health Check”: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/
It will add some additional features under the menu item under Tools > Site Health.
On its troubleshooting tab, you can Enable Troubleshooting Mode. This will disable all plugins, switch to a standard WordPress theme (if available), allow you to turn your plugins on and off and switch between themes, <strong>without affecting normal visitors to your site</strong>. This allows you to test for various compatibility issues.

There’s a more detailed description about how to use the Health Check plugin and its Troubleshooting Mode at https://make.www.ads-software.com/support/handbook/appendix/troubleshooting-using-the-health-check/

Thanks so much for the Health Check suggestion. I’ll try that and let you know…
