Did we get hacked or is it negative seo?? Bad, spammy backlinks!

  • Hello!

    I am in a bit of a panic because I noticed a crazy amount of back links that are pointing to our roofing contractor site including the words ‘viagra’ and ‘buy pills online’ etc.

    I am not sure if it is a hack within wordpress or if it is negative SEO. It almost seems like a hack or virus because a lot of the links are coming from our own site. When I go to the page that is supposedly linking to the spam, I can’t find the link anywhere.

    What do you think?

    We just purchased a new domain, but both domains seem to be targeted, and it seems to be recent.

    old domain: bradyroofing.net
    new domain: bradyroofing.com

    It appears that your wordpress site is infected with malware. You will need to download all the files and folders from your account to local machine, scan them using an updated anti-virus and anti-malware, then remove all the files and folders from the account. And upload the scanned (clean) files and folders to the document root of your account.

    You can also take help from your hosting provider to search for malware script or infected files.
