Followed instructions on WP dashboard to install plugin.

Adminer link installed on top menu and in the Tools menu of Dashboard.

Clicking link = “The requested URL was not found on this server”

Don’t know why. The linked folder for site/wp-adminer was not found with a file manager on my server.

Nothing found about this in the forums.

PexleChris looked at the installation and told me there was a missing .htaccess file in the public_html directory. Not sure why WordPress didn’t put that file in there when I installed WordPress.

    Thank you PexleChris!

File contents say “dynamically generated” as follows

    ……………………………………………………

BEGIN WordPress The directives (lines) between “BEGIN WordPress” and “END WordPress” are dynamically generated, and should only be modified via WordPress filters. Any changes to the directives between these markers will be overwritten.

    RewriteEngine On RewriteRule .* – [E=HTTP_AUTHORIZATION:%{HTTP:Authorization}] RewriteBase / RewriteRule ^index.php$ – [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.php [L] END WordPress

Hello. You could have asked for a solution before writing a negative review…

wp-adminer is a fake link like all the links in the front-end. You could change it with the slug of your choice with constant PEXLECHRIS_ADMINER_SLUG.

If you need more help feel free to ask in the support forum!

Hello Chris, I am not a WordPress professional so why something doesn’t work is not obvious to me. I thought telling people that the plugin didn’t install as expected for me was honest and valuable. I thought this was the support forum. The address at the top of the page I’m on says

Support ? Plugin: Database Management tool – Adminer ? Didn’t install for me

I sincerely thank you for your efforts. David

    Hello Pexle Chris,

I’ve been working on this with other people following your advice. I never found a solution. A fresh install of the default WordPress website, without Adminer, has a link to the Dashboard that is broken. I believe the issue is not with WordPress or Adminer. The issue is likely with the server operating system, hardware or other software. I’m not a computer pro. I’m moving to a new server box. You’ve been advising me by email and I’m impressed that you likely have a good plugin that works. Thank you Pexle Chris!

So, could you please fix your review?
