I’m a full time WP consultant. My “side hustle” is genealogy and this plugin looked like it might be useful on my genealogy WP site. The activation instructions are missing key pieces so anyone who is more versed in genealogy than WordPress will hit bumps in the road to activation. The trees that are built by the plugin don’t meet the expectation of trees that can be built on top sites like Ancestry.com. I was disappointed.

I am sorry you had problems and despite our efforts to offer support you were still not able to resolve these to your satisfaction. While you are entitled to your views, I cannot help but think the rating for the plugin is overly harsh and uncharitable. Over 400 people have successfully installed and used the plugin this year. I understand you had issues, but as far as we can tell, they were unique to you and we did seek to offer support which, with patience, we would have been able to sort everything for you. Unfortunately you were not willing to give us the chance. In addition, we never advertised any capability to build tress as you would on a site like Ancestry.com and we show images of exactly what you will get on the plugin page so it’s clear to users before they start. Sites like Ancestry are massive affairs with substantial code bases that have been developed over many years – not small WordPress plugins. We are currently building an add on to offer more chart types and design options, but I don’t think it would ever be possible to achieve via a WordPress plugin, the kind of results you would get on Ancestry.com so if that is what you want, then you are indeed better off using their tools.
