Didn't take backup and updated WordPress

  • Hi Guys, i did not take the backup of blog am running, and updated the WordPress, Now no download links are also not working and some of the plug-ins are also deleted (i didn’t deactivate the plugins also). please tell me what i do now to fix my blog and make every thing working ?? its really a serious problem for me.

  • If you know what version you were running, why don’t you try getting hold on an older copy and using it again? Just back up your theme folder, uploads, plugins and maybe your wp-config.php file. When the older core files are running again I don’t see why you can’t get everything up and running as before.

    Also, updating WP shouldn’t delete any plugins, the folder is separate – not sure what’s going on there.

    any idea? is there any thing so i can revert to old version? and Site working again as it was? or any thing?

    Try deactivating ALL plugins and switching to the twentytwelve theme. That’s the first troubleshooting step.

    Are those plugins in the plugins folder – you’ll need to use FTP or other file manager to look in that folder on the server.
