It worked as expected on regular WP pages. If page data was in a json file, it didn’t find the link. So if I had Elementor pages with images, it thought they were OK to delete because it didn’t see the link.

The plugin is supposed to support detection of the images used in the sidebars too. I would be interested in replicating your case on my installs and, of course, fixing the plugin. If you are willing to help me on this, I would do it (and share a Pro version wit you too).

Today, I noticed that, while my restore of my website, fixed some of the image issues, it didn’t fix all. While images are in the Uploads folder and work fine with the pages, they don’t show up in the media library. I’ve been juggling a bunch of work and may have messed my restore up too.

I only tried to use the plugin because I have a client with a very large uploads folder for a site that actually uses very few of the images. I could probably have cleaned up by eyeballing it.

When my workload slows down and I have time to properly replicate and figure out the issues I’d be happy to share you the sql and wp-content backups.

I’ll ping you when I’ve got things more in hand.Didn’t Word Well *for me* means “so it could be entirely my fault!

    Thanks for your reply.

@tigroumeow – this is totally not your plugin’s fault!. I’m using Elementor and the image URLs are now stored in a json file. Your plugin can’t see those URLs so it determines that the images are not in use and deletes them. I discovered this moving a client to a new domain today.

How do I edit the starting topic and rating? I don’t see an edit option. I need to change this to a simple warning about using the plugin with Elementor.

    Hi @mikegriffinn,

Oh I see, then it’s pretty tricky. Is this plugin really used a lot? Since it’s not available on the WordPress Repository, I can’t see if it’s popular or not. It’s useful for me to know the list of the plugins my plugin is not “really” compatible with in order for me to add warnings within the plugin itself ??

About modifying the topic and rating, you don’t see any edit link on the left side of this forum? I also added a “modlook” tag to this thread, a moderator might be able to help.

This, btw, is the URL regarding image paths being stored in JSON file with Elementor:

It is in the WP repository. 20k+ downloads since June.

It is the future of Page Builder plugins, IMO. See my review:

    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/carefully-thoughtfully-and-effectively-designed-page-builders/

So far they have solved issues like.

Thank you for sharing ?? Indeed, it looks quite popular, and I need to try it too! I think I can make it compatible with the Media Cleaner. Hopefully that will be easy but will also make the parsing much slower as well. Let’s see how I can implement this.

There is also an active Facebook Group, https://www.facebook.com/groups/Elementors/

Once you become familiar with it, maybe you can add something to the discussion of how to fix the migration issue https://github.com/pojome/elementor/issues/740

Thanks. Sorry for the erroneous review and rating. I’ll ping in a solid 5. As soon as I finish hand fixing the migration issues in front of me ??

I tried to create a review and actually it’s possible to modify it. You just need to get to the first post of this review (“I tried this on three different sites”…), and when you hover on it there is a EDIT link appearing at the bottom right of the editor. That’s all ??

I noted this and I will try to add support for Elementors. I need to test it anyway because it looks quite interesting, and I might have to add support for my Retina plugin too!

When I hover over the first post, my post, all I see is reply?

I just read that you can edit it for an hour and then it is locked.

    Hello @mikegriffinn,

Actually, I heard it’s possible to update our review ??

    It’s explained here:
    https://www.ads-software.com/ideas/topic/be-able-to-edit-my-plugin-review

Basically you need to go at the bottom of this page:
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/media-cleaner/reviews
And update it ?? Do you mind trying?
