• 1) WP Favs Site wouldn’t let me add any plugins to my WP Favs list. Acknowledged plugin via pulldown list but unable to fill text field either from list or by manually keying (Win 10 client)

    2) Tried using the ‘Load Favorites from www.ads-software.com’ option in plugin but got following error:
    function WP_List_Table::get_columns() must be over-ridden in a sub-class.

  • Hi Stormykeith, you should open a support topic instead of leaving a bad review to get support. It’s a bit unethical.

    Regarding your questions

    1) Not sure how to reproduce the error, please open a support thread and I will happily try to help you

    2) This is fixed on version 1.0.7, the issue arrived with WP 4.3 but it’s now fixed thanks to another user contribution. You can read more in https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/error-in-uploading-1?replies=9

    Hi Damian,

    Thanks for the prompt response.

    Apologies if I caused any unintended offence. I’m not sure I agree with your comments. I certainly wasn’t looking to use it to prompt a support response. Thought the whole purpose of the rating system was to evaluate the product and rate it accordingly. Don’t really see how I could have rated it any differently. I explained clearly what my issue was. In all honesty, it was such a fundamental issue. As a developer, I personally would do at least a sanity check to spot this type of error prior to any new WP release.

    Anyway, glad to hear it’s fixed. Will change rating once I’ve had chance to use it.

    Regards
    Keith

    Hi Keith sorry but I don’t agree with you or at least I act differently when Im in your situation.
    Maybe I got confused by your last sentence “Awaiting response from author”, When I leave a review I don’t expect for any answer.

    As a developer, when I found a bug I would first check the support forums (first topic was about this issue, we haven’t got many support requests ), If nothing is there, I write a thread mentioning the issue and in some cases I directly push a fix like @rob-c did if Im in a hurry and couldn’t wait for the developer to fix it.

    As a developer, I personally would do at least a sanity check to spot this type of error prior to any new WP release.

    I wish I can, but I can’t check all my plugins on every WordPress release, that’s why “Compatible up to” exist. To prevent users of using plugins on untested versions like you did.

    Wp Favs it’s simple a free tool that I made to give something back to the community, but unfortunately I need to dedicate most of my time to the plugins that I get revenue from and that delays things.

    I hope you understand my point of view and I really hope wpfavs works well for you from now on.
