• Finally deactivated and uninstalled the plugin. After activating this plugin and Inserting a link, couldn’t get it to work, After hours of waiting and communicating with plugin author, I managed myself to make it work on FF, but didn’t work on chrome. The author didn’t provide any solution for error on chrome. , though he said that they would make it work by charging on hourly basis. Also this plugin stopped the site stats in wordpress, after deactivating it, site stats is working fine.

Also from my observation, if you have other social plugins installed, this will not work certainly. Also if there is jquery.noConflict somewhere it wont work.

    Hello Pelister,

We are both surprised and disappointed with the feedback. The plugin didn’t worked on your site because of a js conflict with the theme files. You are using a custom theme and in all probability it will not support all WP plugins.

The offer to resolve the issue at an hourly charge was an effort to help you through the issue, where in we would have standardized YOUR theme coding to support any universal plugin, like ours ??

Unfortunately the comment box here doesn’t comes with an attachment section else I would have shared the screenshots, one of your site and other of our demo site so that other USERS can cross check the same.

For your peace of mind try this – just install a default WordPress theme and the plugin, if the plugin works all is good. If it doesn’t, we are always here to solve the issue.

On a different note, you rated a plugin 1/5 because you had to wait 24 hours for free support for a free plugin? Seriously? I was scanning through your profile and I can see that you have left bad rating for so many more plugins for trivial reasons. You know what, the WordPress community will definitely be a better place without freeloaders like you.

Best of luck for your future endeavors.

Yes I am a freeloader, but I haven’t stopped being a freeloader, I too have written plugins ( not for WP ) but for Joomla, QRCODE plugin for Yourls( open source url shortener ) and a free app QRMAN, I have also provided free assistance to those who run into problems after trying my scripts. I am not asking you to do a free service, but you could have atleast discussed the possible problems that might have occurred, which I figured it out myself. Everyone will not be in a position to pay, and my scenario is entirely different because of paypal restrictions for Indian accounts.

However I have rectified the issue myself. Now its working on chrome and FF.

@dualcube: There’s nothing wrong with being a freeloader. You offer a free product, after all. If you don’t wish to offer any free support, you’re not obligated to do so, but you are responsible for the outcome of that decision. I strongly urge you to document it in your readme, if you only offer paid support. Once you do that, the volunteers here (hi) will back up your choice because we’ll know about it ??

@free3dart: That said, you should have more reasonable expectations for free support on free products. 24 hours is not an unreasonable amount of time to wait on a PAID ticket, let alone a free one. Your unrealistic expectations are much of why you’re having such a terrible time with everything. it’s unfair of you to expect for high quality, fast, support, when you’re unwilling to pay or compensate. People write plugins and offer them for free for a multitude of reasons. You, as a freeware author, should know that and be cognizant.

You had a post here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/just-appends-and-scrolls-to-top?replies=2&view=all

That would be the proper place to discuss debugging. Leaving a bad review the same day you open a support topic is rather unfair.

@Ipsetenu: Its true I didn’t waited for 24 hours, but the author of the plugin did responded, but all he said is we would clear the problem by charging on hourly basis. As you said, I wouldn’t have written a support ticket or review if the author has clearly mentioned “Only paid support”, The author wrote me 2 times but didn’t even said any word on what the problem might be. mine is not an unrealistic expectation, how do I know that I have to wait 24 hours, or the support is only for paid members.

First things first, I will apologies for my outburst. I (and my team) have been pretty serious about contributing back to WP community, and I blew it up when I saw the bad rating. Me being an ESL speaker didn’t help it either and my choice of words was wrong. @free3dart, apologies again.

Having said that, I will still very strongly convey our disappointment and frustration on the rating we were given.

Let me put it clearly – we offer free support and we charge for customization.

@Ipsetenu – We agree that the response was uncalled for, specially with the use of term “Freeloader” and we have apologized for that. Our plugins are free of cost and so is the support for these plugins. You can view our past records here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/fb-viral-downloader.
The paid support was proposed because free3dart is using a custom designed theme. I hope you too understand that custom coded themes are specific to a user’s requirement and in all probability wouldn’t support each and every WordPress plugin in the depository.

@free3dart: We appreciate your contribution to other open source platforms. However, according to me, that does not qualify anyone in being unduly harsh to fellow contributors.

    Regards,
    Team Dualcube
