Difference between Subscribed and Active?

I started using this not long ago, actually only a few days ago and I think I’ve had some people subscribe and whatnot. On the main page for the plugin, it says there is 1 person with the status active, 7 with the status subscribed, and 8 in the mailing list. Though when I open Batch 1, it only lists 1 email, mine that I used to test the feature.

Does that mean that the others just haven’t gone to their activation/Confirmation email?
