Different capabilities for viewing & editing

I would love to be able to have a user role that’s able to view all posts–including by others, including scheduled and drafts–but not edit them. There are some people I work with who need to know what posts are coming up on the website, but that doesn’t mean I automatically want to give them editing abilities. Right now, that seems to be wrapped up in the same capability, which means that the various user role plugins aren’t much good to me. Separating “view/read” from “edit” would be ideal.
