different countries get directed to mystite.com/uk mysite.com/fr

  • Confused myself with this.

    I want to set up a website whereby different countries get directed to mystite.com/uk mysite.com/fr etc etc HTF do I do this? Surely I don’t need to perform a wp install on each country?

    You would want to redirect visitors to the appropriate URL based on their IP address. This is doable but involves considerable custom development.

    If you only want content to be translated for a visitor,there are a few plugins that can do that perhaps without the need for unique URLs.

    You definitely shouldn’t need multiple WP installs.

    You’d probably also want to set up a custom taxonomy (“countries”?) to classify your content easily.
