Different excerpt length for first post

    Is it possible to set a special excerpt length for the first post?

    I’m working on a layout using GeneratePress that displays the blog posts in a two-column layout, except that the first post is “featured” and displays across the two columns at the top. The goal is to display a longer featured post, with all others set to a shorter length.

    Hi @steveblum

    The plugin is primarily meant as an improvement on the existing WordPress excerpt functionality since by default there’s no options to set the length of excerpts.

    If you supply a specific excerpt for that post (instead of the post being generated from the content) it will display in it’s full form.

    But not sure if that’ll help you achieve what you need. You might need to hire a developer to help out with that.
