Different header images on subsites

Hello,
I would like to have different header images on my homepage on the different “sub”-pages but am struggling to find how to do that.As a second problem I struggle to get the homeoage working on all plattforms in the correct format. With safari, edge, chrome etc it looks fine and as I built it in wordpress, but in Internet Explorer 11 the formatting does not look the same. I already tried and cleared all catches without any success.
Can you help me with these problems?

Please set featured image in edit page
When featured image is set, it will be displayed as a header image in single post, page
Internet Explorer 11 the formatting does not look the same. I already tried and cleared all catches without any success.
Unfortunately IE11 is old and the theme is to make it only readable.
If you have CSS knowledge, you can edit and customize the emulsion/css/backward-compatible.css fileIE11 support is about to expire. So personally, I don’t recommend customization.
