• Hi,

I’m new on WordPress. I have search on forum for my issue but didn’t find. I need some posts (from one category) to have another design. I would like a same way like in pages (where I can choose a template for each page). I can’t put my content in pages because I want it in the posts flux. How must I do ? Is there a way to solve this ?
Thanks in advance for all help,

    Joséphine

I don’t think so. I’m not searching to change the design of my category page, I want to change only the design of posts witch belong to this category.
So if I click in homepage on my category : “Cooking”, I want to have the list of articles like for others categories, whith the same design, but when I will click on an article link, I want to arrive on this post with a new designe, different from other posts in other categories. Category Templates don’t seem to help me for this. Thanks anyway for your response because I know now the Category templates ! ?? But I’m always in the mess for the rest…

Ahh. Ok, how about a few PHP if statements and some CSS hackery?

Presumably, you’re up on how The_Loop works.

I wrote a little post recently about how I style asides (which is a category). You could easily do something quite similar (conditional styling) for all your categories I’d wager. I don’t just change style, but show/remove other post elements as well, but you could do it just with the div class I reckon.

The key is little ol’ in_category().

Is that closer to being useful?

I think my plugin would be handy here:
