• Hello,

I have a question about the top level menu in wordpress. I need to make a site with different departments. The different departments are for example football, tennis, basketball and hockey.

I created two top level menu’s, what i need is this. when you click on the upper top level menu on one of the four departments, for example football. Then there need to appear on the top level menu below a custom menu.

So when i click on one of the four departments, in the menu below there need to appear a custom top-level menu specialised for one of the four departments, can you show me how to do it, i have little experience with php, thank you in advance!!

  • Sounds more like javascript than php – it’s going to happen on the client when a menu item is clicked. You could have separate sections / divs, hidden initially, each with one type of menu in it, and use the main menu selection to show/hide the appropriate one. The top level menu wouldn’t be a WordPress menu (which launches pages) but simply a list of buttons.

    Hopefully I’ve understood your needs!

i’m sorry but this made it far more complicated than i initially thought. the site which i need to build is this one: https://www.mikewildschut.nl/HellasUtrecht/, in the orange department will be football, basketball etc. And when you click on it, there should appear a different menu below, now it shows ‘kaolo’, but there should appear an other menu.

I don’t think I’m really following, maybe if you made a picture of what it should look like with examples of different sports?
