• Hello Chris, how are you?

I’ve having trouble making GN Publisher to work.
For some reason, my site is creating an /feed url that doesn’t let GN to properly generate the URLs for the feed.
Because everything that has /feed is made in the pattern of that reffered url:
    https://br.doctorlotto.com/feed/.

My dev said that probably he would take a lot of time to discover what is creating this /feed page.
So, I just said…if we don’t use this /feed we can move on and create another URL using GN, but he said that is not possible to change feeds URLs in this plugin.

Is that so? Can you help me?

    Thanks!

    Best,
    Guilherme Kawasaki

  • Hi Guilherme,

I thought I could quickly jump in and help you here, either /feed/gn/ or &feed=gn or ?feed=gn always works…

…except, in your case, they doesn’t.

Are you using an seo plugin that is removing the /category/ part of the category urls?

If so, we had some trouble with those before, but put in fixes for Yoast and Rankmath – are you using one of those or something different?

Hi Chris, thanks for answering so fast.

    Yep…
The /category/ doesn’t exist in our website anymore.
    We have others like:
    /tips/
    /news/
    /videos/

Annd was based in those “categories” we tried to build theses feeds for Gnews.

We use Yoast, but probably the plugin that does this work turning /category/ into /tips, for example is permalink manager.

Acutally we are having a hard time trying to discover what is generating this /feed right now.

I think for now we will try to discover another sollution.
Maybe one that gives us de possibility to build around another path.

    Thanks!

I’m not sure what is happening…. even the feeds for your category pages are empty feeds.

You might experiment by changing the setting in your Permalink Manager and using Yoast to accomplish the same thing – https://yoast.com/help/how-to-remove-the-categories-prefix/ then see if it makes any difference in the feeds,

    Chris
