I don’t want to show the product tag cloud (or anything product-related) in the sidebar of my blog; i’d prefer the blog (and individual posts) displayed the regular WP post tags & categories, and that my shop used the product tag cloud.

I looked through 10 pages of posts and i can see a lot of people asking how to hide/remove the tag cloud, but not to preserve both tag clouds in their proper places. This also seems particularly unsearchable.

Am i missing something obvious? If you know how i can make this display properly, please let me know.

P.S. I had an older installation of WooCommerce on a separate (locked) site that DOES use the product tag cloud on product pages and the post tag cloud on the blog/posts pages, so i know it at least used to be possible! And the only thing that i could see differently was that i used the old widget customizer. So i downloaded the Classic Widget plugin and installed it, but it doesn’t change anything.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Howdy,

You are referring to this widget: https://d.pr/i/SARMLn – correct?
I would probably try and use something like: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/widget-context/ to control visibility.

As an alternative you could try and hide this via custom CSS but for that could specify what you mean by “how to hide/remove the tag cloud, but not to preserve both tag clouds in their proper places.” exactly?
Do you mean to hide it on the start page but not on a specific (sub)page? If yes, which (sub)page specifically?

    Kind regards,

Sorry, it got kind of confusing with two different types of tag clouds. XD I just wanted to be sure that:

    1. The product tag cloud showed up on the shop, product categories, and products.
    2. The blog tag cloud showed up on blog page as well as individual blog posts

Thank you so much for taking the time to look and search for a plugin that did something so specific–all i could think was “it worked before, how do i get it to revert.”

When i searched for your recommendation, i saw one that had been tested with my version of WP so i grabbed that one instead, and it works really well so far! (It was Widget Options, in case anyone else finds this thread relevant and wants to know how this ended).

    Thanks again!!

    Hi @inkshark,

Glad to hear that @conschneider’s recommendation led to choose the correct plugin for you!

I’ll mark this topic as solved for now. Please feel free to open a new topic if you have any other questions.

    Cheers.
