    Hello,

I trialed a live order on my site for a digital product and it worked fine. In PayPal, the payment showed up right away, so it worked great.

I just noticed today, though, that the order status in the “orders” tab in my woocommerce dashboard shows up as “processing”.

Wondering if you know why or if you can point me to a source that will help me troubleshoot this particular issue.

Thank you! (And I am really appreciating woocommerce.)

    Hi there,

Can you check what the order notes are saying for that “Processing” order? You’ll find that under Products > All Products > YOUR DIGITAL PRODUCT > Order notes. If you can take a screenshot, that’ll help a great deal.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    Thanks for response.

I took screen shots and made pics and can upload those but don’t see a way to do it here.

fyi for below: I only have one item for sale at this time (an e-book).

Re: Your instructions, I go to Products > All Products > and the one product I have shows up on the list. I do not see any tab or any field that says “order notes”.

The tabs I see are: “Add New” “Import” “Export”

The fields I see are: Name, SKU, Stock, Price, Categories, Tags, Star Symbol (Featured), Box Symbol (Type), Date, Stats

Above that are the drop downs: Bulk Actions, Select Category, Filter by Product Type, Filter by Stock Status

When I click on the product, I also do not see any tab or field for “order notes”.

I must be missing something (re: uploading pics here and finding “order notes”)?

    Thanks!

    Hey there!

I’m so sorry – I messed up my instructions. The order notes section can be found under WooCommerce > Orders > YOUR DIGITAL PRODUCT ORDER > Order Notes; Any payment notification updates or order status changes will be contained there.

In terms of screenshots, you can upload those to an image/file hosting service and then paste the links to those files here. Popular services include https://imgur.com or https://dropbox.com/

    Hello,

    Sorry for delay!

I’m still not finding the order notes. This is the screen that comes up when I go to Woocommerce > Orders

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/7sbcbgek2hiylh0/Woocommerce%20Orders%20for%20Upload.jpg?dl=0

Not seeing where to find order notes from there. Must be missing something obvious…

Thanks for that screenshot! You’re almost there: to see the order notes for a specific order, click on the order:

Once you’ve done that, please share a screenshot of those order notes with us.

Perfect, thanks! So I can see the order status is on processing, while it should be completed automatically for a digital product.

If you take a look at the product in question, you’ll see a few checkboxes at the top:

    Virtual

Can you please double check that?

    Thanks!

I have just the downloadable option checked. I’m assuming that’s the issue? Should I have both checked or just virtual? (It’s a downloadable e-book.)

    Hi @ellen246,

I have just the downloadable option checked. I’m assuming that’s the issue? Should I have both checked or just virtual? (It’s a downloadable e-book.)

That’s right! If you just have it as “Downloadable” it will go to “Processing” by default. If it’s both “Downloadable” and “Virtual” it will go to “Completed” once the payment has been captured.

    Best,
