Dilectio 1 and trouble implementing google search

I’ve been trying to input the code for a google affiliate search box but I can’t seem to get it to execute. In Dilectio, there’s search code in sidebar.php, searchform.php (search form), and search.php (search results page). I input the google search box portion of the code in sidebar.php and in searchform.php, and I put the search results portion of the code within the search.php template, but it doesn’t work.

Any advice? Thanks.
