Direct Link to Password Popup box

  • Hi there,

    I’m trying to get a direct link to a file to work with password lock.

    I have a direct link (without a password) to a file which works fine. [wpdm_direct_link id=”3173″]

    But, as soon as I add the password protect, it takes me to the link page first, then gives me another download button, which then creates the popup for the download. I need the direct link.

    I’ve searched the forum like crazy, and can’t find it. Would you please assist me?

  • You can choose a page template like [page-template-doc-preview] [page-template-extended] [page-template-video], where downloading starts as soon as the user enters the password.

    Thank you for your reply. But when I click my link, it goes to the template page on another page, and does not open the password box immediately. I can then click the download link where it asks for a password, and the file downloads. This is fine, and working well – however…

    I want to have it so that, when a customer clicks on the direct_link, it should immediately popup to ask for the password, then download the file.

    Please would you assist.
