Direct Website

  • Hi,

    I wanted to add the english version of my wordpress website.

    I added a subdomain as en.hotel-tekstil.com, I have created a new db and transferred all my files to this location.

    But now whenever I try to go to en.hotel-tekstil.com, it is directing me to hotel-tekstil.com. I guess I need to change sth. at db?

  • Yep. There are a couple of settings for webbsite location, media upload directory, etc.

    If you intend the English version to always be a “clone” of the other one, perhaps you might consider an extension for a multilingual site instead?
    Personally, I’m using Qtranslate X, but I believe support is slowly fading.
    WPML (commercial software) is one of the best known. I often see recommendations for Polylang (there are both free and paid versions).

    With this approach, you’ll hopefully get much less headache from maintaining two “parallel universes”.
