Directly Cached Files

  • i was playing around with this feature. is it supposed to create a cached file in the web root? i enabled it and made it writeable, but it didn’t create any file(s)

    Normally, the super cache files are put into a super cache directory inside the wordpress directory. The Directly Cached Files option lets you specify a page that will be cached directly under the root of the WordPress root directly, next time it’s accessed. This bypasses all the .htaccess rules, giving it the fastest possible static page serving for that specific page.

    So, if you put in https://example.com/about/ as the page, then when somebody looked at your about page next, it would create a /about/index.html file directly in the web root instead of putting that cached page in the super cache directory.
