• I’m lost in this.

I have read and read and read, and then I keep seeing people referring to lots of code. I thought this was a program conducive for beginners. I used a mozilla FTP from simple script.

Where do I find this WordPress Directory???? Where are there instructions. It looks good if you’ve got a background in this, but I don’t.

When I go read instructions they usually end up talking about codes in directories.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about.

Is there some better reference material that is for beginners?

If not let me know, so I can purchase a program that is for a beginner.

    Thanks.

  • WordPress could not be any easier… unless you are trying to set it up on your own server, in your own home, without any prior server knowledge. That is just not a WordPress issue. On the other hand, the really neat thing, is that all the information you need is pretty well organized once you get a feel for it. You can start here:

New To WordPress – Where to Start

I recommend you read the requirements first:

    Hosting WordPress

If you are okay with all of that, then I recommend that you familiarize yourself with the features of your host provided control panel. How to manage files, database tools, and all of the extras most hosts provide. That includes uploading files, database and file backups and administration.

If you prefer to use an FTP client to upload files, some basic knowledge of how things work on a web-space is assumed, but not absolutely necessary. Good information located here:

    FTP Clients

And a complete index of information located here:

I used a mozilla FTP from simple script.

Do you mean a FTP Client plugin for firefox?

Where do I find this WordPress Directory????

You’re supposed to get hosting and upload the WordPress files to your hosting account.

If you’re looking to try out WordPress and don’t want to get your own hosting, you can look at the hosted version of WordPress at wordpress.com.
    They provide excellent blog hosting…
